Thomas Murray of New Waterford passed away on Monday December 5th, 2022, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Arthur and Helen ( MacKinnon) Murray of New Waterford.
Thomas started his working life as so many men did as a proud coal miner, he then went on to a career with Seaboard Industrial where he was employed for the better part of his life. Thomas was a quiet man and was a well known and well-respected member of this community. He had several pastimes which included jiving, skating, fishing, and hunting but the one he will always be known for is his skill at playing Checkers. The Murray family name was well represented whenever he sat down at the table for a ‘friendly game’.
Thomas leaves to mourn his loving partner, Darlene Cameron, his sons Ashley (Wendy) Murray, Justin Murray, Josh Cameron and his five beautiful grandchildren. Brother; Arthur Sid ( Debby) Murray, sister; Shannon ( Calvin) Murray McKinnon and sister-in-law; Helen Murray. Several nieces and nephews and his much-loved fur baby, Blossom, who brought him such joy and companionship throughout the years.
Besides his parent he was also predeceased by his brother John Frances Murray.
A sincere heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses, at the ICU Unit at the CBRH, your care and compassion helping us through such a difficult time was a true blessing. If you wish donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Footprints
One night I had a dream.
I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed
scenes from my life.
In each scene, I noticed
two sets of footprints
in the sand, one belonged to me,
and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my
life flashed before me,
I looked back at the
footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many
times along the path of my life
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened
at the worst times in my life.
This really bothered me and
I questioned the
Lord about it.
“Lord, you said that once
I decided to follow you, you would
walk with me all the way.
But I’ve noticed that
during times of trouble
there is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why,
when I needed you most,
you would leave me.”
The Lord replied,
“My precious, precious child
I love you and
I would never, never leave you
during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you see only
one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”
