Sheila E. Leadbeater

It is with great sadness the family wish to announce the passing of Sheila E. Leadbeater on September 8, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford on December 24, 1955 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (MacMillan) Henry.

Mom always welcomed everyone with open arms, a cup of tea and a bite to eat. If the business in town served food, she worked there. She spent all her time putting everyone’s needs before her own and ended every conversation with “I love you”. She loved unconditionally and gave everything she had. She truly was the glue that held everything together.

Sheila is survived by the love of her life of 42 years Duggie Leadbeater; daughter Nadine (Nelson), sisters Carol Ann (Gordie), Edwina (Duane) and Josie (Alex); grandchildren Connor, Sawyer; honorary grandchild Maddox and many nieces and nephews

Besides her parents, Sheila is also predeceased by her son Dean; brothers Bernie, Neil; father and mother in-law John and Veronica.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12th at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave, New Waterford with Father Ray Huntley officiating, followed by a luncheon to celebrate her life at the Army, Navy & Airforce, Smith St., and all are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. To send online condolences go to: www.mclellanfuneralhome.com

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing nurses with VON. There is a special place in her heart and ours for Tammy and Kelly. Many thanks to the Cape Breton Cancer Center, Palliative Care and Lawtons Drugs, New Waterford.
