Sandra Marie Young

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Marie Young, our mother, grandmother, and sister Sandra passed away peacefully at her home on November 16, 2022, at the age of 76.  Born in New Waterford on June 2,1946 she was the daughter of the late Fred and Carmella Rockett.

Sandra was a very Simple lady, she loved sitting in her big chair watching the news and her favorite TV Shows. She was a book lover and found joy in the little things like sitting at her table drinking her coffee and doing her crosswords.

She is survived by her children; Ian (Patricia) Halifax, Jennifer, Halifax, Lauchie (Sherry) River Ryan, and Eric, New Waterford.

Grandchildren; Christopher (Larissa), New Victoria, Andrew, River Ryan, Allura and Isobel, Halifax.

Sandra is also survived by her sisters; Marg (Martin) Gillis, Ontario, Lynn (Sammy) Burke, Ontario, Denise (Rick) Robicheau, Yarthmouth, Hilary Muzzin, Ontario. Brother-in-law Lauchie (Raylene) Hinchey, River Ryan as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Rodney Todd Young in June of 2005 and her mother-in-law Elizabeth Hinchey.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of McLellan Funeral Home, New Waterford. A funeral service for Sandra will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, in McLellan Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Lorne MacNeil officiating.
