It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ruth Burrage on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 62, in New Waterford. Born on May 23, 1960. She was the daughter of the late David and Thelma ( Budge) Burrage.

A kinder soul you will never meet. Ruth put her friends and family first and some of her happiest memories are from time spent with her family. Her love and kindness carried over into her time spent working at a nursing home in Calgary, Alberta. Always giving the extra care and attention to her patients.

Ruth is survived by her loving partner of 15yrs, Raymond Burns, son Wally
(Victoria) Burrage of Calgary; sister Jesse Burrage of Sydney; brother Davey Burrage of Halifax as well as her two wonderful grandchildren, Jack & Eva.
Her aunt Joan of Neil’s Harbour and her many cousins, Bruce (Karen) Hatcher, Neil’s Harbour, Susan, Sherry, Kim, Paula, Darren, Keith, and Lorne all of New Waterford. Also by her niece & nephews Mailey, Hunter, Rory, Xander, and Skye.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her cousin, Ricky Hatcher, and her aunts Betty Budge and Ruth Burrage.


Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Celebration of Life will be held in the McLellan Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. on Sept 7th, 2022 with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Interment will take place in Union Grove Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce Unit 217, All are welcome to attend.
