Pauline 'Faye' Daix

It is with sad hearts that we the family of Pauline ‘Faye’ Daix, announce that she passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011. Pauline was the daughter of the late Albert ‘Brickie’ and Abby Jane ‘Jennie’ (Timmons) Demeyere. Born in Glace Bay and raised in Dominion, Pauline spent her younger years working alongside her father and brothers in the family construction business. She was a natural leader and loved the outdoors, spending her spare time swimming, fishing, dancing and singing. Pauline was married in 1950 to her husband of 59 years, Frank, and together they raised their family in “14 yard” in New Waterford. Pauline enjoyed planting flowers, cooking for family gatherings, enjoying a good cup of tea and reading. Pauline’s zealous, determined and inquisitive personality sparked in her desire to get to know her creator, Jehovah God from youth on into her old age. This led her to a lifelong career in sharing bible truths with others. Her happiest moments were when she was preaching the ‘Good News.” She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Glace Bay and New Waterford for 53 years and cherished her privilege of talking about Jehovah’s promises for the future. She put her trust in them which was a real strength for her especially in later years. (Isaiah 32:24) And no resident will say, “I am sick”... Pauline held fast to her hope right to the end and passed away knowing that she had made a wonderful name with God and was safe now in his memory. Pauline was known to her family as ‘Ma’, ‘Nanny’ or ‘Faye’ and loved each one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and friends immensely. She awaited the time when she could be with them under better conditions through the resurrection hope of life on a paradise earth. (Job 14:14,15) “You will call..and I myself will answer you. For the work of your hands you have a yearning”. She is survived by her children Mary (Bo) LeBlanc, Marcella (Mike) Bennett, Sandra (Myran) MacNeil, Velvet Scott, Frank Jr. (Dorothy), Gus (Carmen) and Daniel (Marjorie). Sisters Marcella, Belgium, Theresa ‘Billie’, Mary ‘Sidie’, Lucy, Simone, Adeline, Joanie, Brenda and brothers Albert ‘Brickie’ and Jimmy. Grandchildren Mark, Michael, Tammy, Frankie, David, Matthew, Josh, Daniel, Richard, Jason, Karlene, and Eugenia. Great-grandchildren Brandon, Felicia, Ryan, Mitchell, Keith, Kelsea, Dax, Kale, Reid and Grayson. Besides her husband Frank, Pauline was also predeceased by her daughter Emily; brothers Clary and Charlie, four sons in infancy and son-in-law Wayne Scott. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Reserve St., Glace Bay. Interment to follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, NS, 862-7500.
