Muriel Marie O'Connell

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Muriel Sis OConnell on May 26, 2013 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (McKenzie) Reid. She will be missed by her children, Dougald (Jill) Campbell, New Waterford, Pat (Brenda) O'Connell, Ontario, and Anita OConnell, New Waterford; sisters, Selena Reid, Ontario, Joanne (Wayne) Steiger, New Waterford, Rosalind (Bobby) ONeil, Glace Bay; brothers, Charles (Michelle), Sydney, Tony (Lorretta) Reid, Abel (Judy) Reid and James, all of Ontario; grandchildren, Michael, Jordan, Riley, Danielle, Devyn, Santana, Lindsay and great-grandchild, Zoey, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Sis was also predeceased by son, Leonard and sister, Catherine Anita, both in infancy, brothers, Cecil, Angus, Walter, Wayne and Butch. Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass to celebrate Siss life will be held on May 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mt. Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the KOC, Plummer Avenue.
