It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their loving mother, grandmother and sister ,Muriel “Midge”( Marsh) MacDonald on December 4, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in New Waterford she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Clara (Hennessy Marsh. Midge was a kind soul with a warm heart and open arms for everyone, she loved spending time with her family and friends and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile was infectious, and her laugh was adored by all, she will be sadly missed by everyone she touched. At one time Midge worked on the domestic staff at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, belonged to the Prayer Group and Luncheon Group at St.Michael’s, River Ryan. She is survived by her sons, Davie, Russell, Johnnie, Ont., Robbie (Laureen), Darren (Janet) New Waterford; daughters Theresa (Walter), Laurie , Vera (Bobby), New Waterford; sisters Laurie, Joan, Olive; brothers Joe (Elaine), Wayne, Yogie (Adrain), Glenn Marsh, her “special angel” and the love of her life; grandchildren Billy, David Jr., Robbie Jr., Billy, Johnnie, Sarah, T.J., Holly, David, Elisa, Stephen, Darren, Scott, Devin, Dakota and Rebecca; great-grandchildren Chloe, Lexi, Aiden, Brooklynn, Dominick and Pheonix. Midge is also survived by Angus R. MacDonald, Glace Bay, also her lifelong friends Kitty and Shirley. Besides her parents, Midge was also predeceased by brothers Russell, Brian; sisters Girllie and Leona; Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate Midge’s life will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10 am in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave., and all are welcomed. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
