Mildred (Millie) Delores Macdonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mildred Delores
MacDonald on January 23, 2017 at the age of 77. Millie was a residence of Taigh
Na Mara, Glace Bay. Born in Gardiner Mines she was the youngest daughter of Patrick and
Catherine (Boutilier) Gouthro.

Millie was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and loved Cape Breton Music, in earlier
years she was a member of St. James Church, Gardiner Mines.

She is survived by son Ken (Peggy), Calgary and daughter Allison (Corey) Smith,
Halifax, the light of her life her grandchildren, Miranda Silk (Sheldon), Calgary, Tyler and Rachael Smith, Halifax, great- grandchild Nyla, as well as many nieces and nephews. Millie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Millie was predeceased by her husband Harold in 2008, sisters Anna (Leo) Mackie,
Theresa (Ignasius) MacAdam, Kay (Norman) Mackie, Mary (Jimmy) MacLeod; brothers
Ronnie (Mamie), Aloysius (Janette) and Freddie (Anna).

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Millie’s life will be held
at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183
Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
