Michelle Charlene Murray

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Michelle Murray on Monday, August 22, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of Dulcie (Emberly) and the late Arthur “The Gull” Penny.

Michelle loved doing crafts, but her main joy was spending time in her ‘little piece of heaven’ Loch Lomond with her family and many long-time friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Shawn; children, Justin, Jordan (Sandra), Dylan Gould, Kyle Horne, Slade Leeroy, Brittany Ruelland; sisters, Roseanne (Bobby), Elaine (Jim); brothers, Robert (Catherine), Donnie (Debbie); many nieces and nephews; lifelong Loch Lomond friends, Billy and Shirley MacLellan; gardening friend, Tanya Friars as well as her dogs Amber and Hershey.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her nephew Robert.

Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass to celebrate Michelle’s life will be held on Thursday, August 25 at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, Gibbon Street, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, all are welcome.
