Michael Anthony Fraser

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother Michael Anthony Fraser of New Victoria, on February 15 at age 60. He was the son of the late James “Chick” and Florence (McInnis) Fraser.

Mike loved his family dearly and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Mike loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and ATV enthusiast. He had a heart of gold and would lend a hand wherever needed. He was a jack of all trades that we often referred to as “Mikey McGyver”. He was a great mechanic often fixing ATVs and tinkering with something in his garage. Mike began working as a lobster fisherman as a teenager, over the next 32 years he graced the decks of many Fishing boats until he became a journeyman scaffolder and began travelling to his second home, Regina, Saskatchewan. He spent most of his trades career working at the Co Op Upgrader. He was a proud member of Carpenter’s Union Locals 1588 and 1985 where many trades people had the privilege of his experience and mentorship.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, his wife Mary (Piovesan) Fraser; daughter Michele (Tyler) Phillippo; sons Anthony( Lyndsay) and Jordan (Alicia); grandchildren Ava and Logan Phillippo, Cameron Burchell, Carlee Conrad, Lexi Fraser, Tyson Parisian, Jaxson, Grayson and Amelia Fraser; sisters Mary Phillips, Betty(Greg Hill) and Donna McKinnon; brother Jimmy Fraser (Colleen O’Brien). His Best friend Ralph McNeil and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents ,Mike was predeceased by in laws Stelvio and Rita Piovesan; sisters Rose Marie Fraser, Diane Delaney; brother Blair Fraser; brothers-in-law Harry Phillips, Pat Delaney and Blair McKinnon; sister-in-law Frances Fraser;  nephews Keith and Kendall Hill and Donnie Fraser.

Cremation has taken place under the care of McLellan Funeral Home 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford with visiting hours on Wednesday, February 22, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, Feb 23rd , at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Remember Me

Don’t remember me with sadness,

Don’t remember me with tears,

Remember all the laughter,

We’ve shared throughout the years.

Now I am contended

That my life it was worthwhile,

Knowing that I passed along the way

I made somebody smile.

When you are walking down the street

And you’ve got me on your mind,

I’m walking in your footsteps

Only half a step behind.

So please don’t be unhappy

Just because I’m out of sight,

Remember that I’m with you

Each morning, noon, and night
