Mary Irene Wilson

We, the family, wish to announce the passing of dear wife, mother and grandmother Mary Irene Wilson, 83, of New Victoria, on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Irene was the daughter of the late Dan and Theresa (McPhee) Cameron. She was a past member of the Parish St. Joseph's of New Victoria and new member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard's, New Waterford. She was a loving wife and homemaker who loved to read, cook and entertain in her home. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Sandy Wilson, New Victoria; daughter, Pamela (Wally) Berko, Port Severn, Ont.; son, Sandy (Maureen) Wilson Jr., Lantz, N.S.; her adoring grandchildren, Cameron, Carley Anne, Jessica, Grant, Jeannie and Blake. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Julia Cameron, Sydney, Jeannie Snook, Port Hawkesbury, Margaret Kaiser, Seaforth, N.S.; brothers-in-law, Doug, British Columbia, Gordie, New Victoria; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret, Esther, Sadie and Violet, brothers, Phonse, Tony, Johnny, Mickey and Greg. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home Ltd., 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford (862-7500) with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment will be at a later date. A luncheon will be held immediately following at the KOC Hall, 3226 Plummer Ave., New Waterford. All are welcome. Donations can be made in Irene's memory to the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
