Marion Christina Pinkerton

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Marion Christina 'Tina' Pinkerton  at Hospice Cape Breton on Thursday, July 27th,2023. Born in New Waterford on September 28th, 1938, to the late William and Nellie Pinkerton. 

Tina is survived by her daughters, Maureen (Gervase) Miller, Kathy McKinnon, and Leisa (Rob) Hirtz and her sons, Sheldon (Chantal) Mckinnon and Jason (Tara) Moore, as well as her fourteen grandchildren and her nineteen great-grandchidren. She is also survived by sisters, Essie Murphy and Willena Schaump and her brother John (Pat) Pinkerton and will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Tina was predeceased by her sons Willie McKinnon and Tony McKinnon, grandson Clayton Miller and her sister Sis Corrigan. We want to thank Dr. D'Intino for the exceptional care given to Tina during her stay at Hospice Cape Breton and  to the amazing nurses and staff. We also want to thank Dr. McLaughlin and the staff at the Glace Bay Hospital for the excellent care of Tina during her stay there. We would also like to thank her friends at the senior's complex on King St. in New Waterford where she lived for the past twenty years.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Funeral Home 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, where a chapel service will be held on Saturday August 26th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. followed by an interment service in Union Grove Cemetery with Fr. Godwin Obike officiating. Following the interment service a reception will be held at McLellan Funeral Home.
