It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle “Louie” Fortune on March 9, 2013. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late John “Red” and Gladys (Mason) Fortune. He is survived by his sisters Irene Pettigrew, Shirley Starzyczny, and Joyce (Charles) Burlock many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly and close buddies especially Vince Currie and his cat Fred. Besides his parents, He is predeceased by his sister Marie (In infancy) and Brother John (Red) Fortune. He was a member of the Local Carpenters Union 1588. He enjoyed hockey and more importantly the Montreal Canadians. He was an avid dart player and enjoyed watching baseball games in the field next to his house. He was a member of the former St. Agnes church. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral will be held Tuesday, March 12, 10 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Leonard with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall on Convent Street. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Mclellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862- 7500. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
