It is with great sorrow the family announce the passing of their mother, grandmother and sister on May 11, 2012 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in Reah Jarup Aabenroa, Demark she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Anna (Beyer) Kanne. Leonie was a loyal member of All Saints Church, where she was quite active in all aspects of the church. She worked on the housekeeping staff at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital for 25 years and belonged to the Aging Gracefully Group. She is survived by her loving daughter, Doreen (Joseph) Hatcher, grandchildren Kari (Tim) Graves, Christopher (Natasha) MacDonald, and great grand-child Brooklyn; sister Marie Head and sister-in-law Joy Kanne. Besides her parents, Leonie was also predeceased by her husband Joseph, brothers Frederick and Matthew, sister-in-law Jean Kanne and brother-in-law Henry Head.As per Leonie’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 AM in All Saints Church, McGibbon St., New Waterford with Rev. Vernon Reid and Rev. Judi Phillips officiating followed by burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 862-7500 Donations can be made to All Saints Church Memorial Fund.
