It is with great sorrow that we, the family of Lawrence William Parsons announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on January 6, 2018. Larry passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his wife Carol and his father Lawrence who was a World War 2 Veteran.
He is survived by his mother Hazel; children Donnie (Rose Marie), Lloyd, Ricky, Dawn and Susie (Bobby Burchell). Larry leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends; also two special friends Mary and Jon.
Larry was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved to fish, hunt, and ride his 4 wheeler on the trails in Big Ridge. He was a great leather craftsman and spent many hours making leather items for his family and friends. He was a long time fisherman and he loved being in the open waters.
Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will take place on January 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow at the Army, Navy and Airforce, Smith Street. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500. Donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit or a charity of one’s choice.
