It is with deep sadness that we, the children of Ken Cheetham, announce his unexpected but peaceful passing on January 24, 2020. Born in 1942 Kenneth was the son of the late Billy and Lizzie (Doucette) Cheetham.
He moved to Ontario to work and met his beloved wife of 45 years Lilian (Quarry). Many will remember Ken as a radio broadcaster at CJCB and CKPE, playing music that he loved and hoped others did too. He always greeted friends with a warm “Hello Son” and ended each day with a “Night, God Bless, I love you”.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter Kim, son Steven (Cherry); sisters Carmel, Cecilia (Ted), Diane (Fred); brothers Keith, Joe (Debbie), Kevin (Gloria) and David (Donna), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Lilian, sister Isabel, brother Gerard and two brothers, William and James in infancy.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Thursday, January 30th from 11am to 1 pm with a chapel service at 1 pm with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating, followed by a luncheon at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave., New Waterford. Burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ken to the SPCA or the Cancer Patient Care Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
