It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Judy MacQuarrie on March 18, 2015 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Ada and Ernie Rockwell. Judy attended Central School where she played junior basketball. She then went on to graduate from Cape Breton Business College. She was also a member of Calvin United Church. Judy was an exceptional dart player, winning many tournaments. In her spare time she loved playing tarbish and cribbage. Judy was very active in her community, volunteering her time to a variety of organizations. She was also a beautiful and gifted writer. She is survived by her daughters Sherri MacQuarrie, Cheryl MacQuarrie (Lawrence) McMullin, sister Barbie Mickey, grandchildren Lacie Hawco, Dylan and Kendel McMullin, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Ray. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date.
