It is with great sadness that we, the family of Joseph Philip Cormier announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Feb. 18, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 5, 1927 in Grand Etang, he was the son of the late Dennis and Adele (Doucet) Cormier.
Joe was the owner and operator of Cape Breton Auto Radiator, commonly known as “Radiator Joe”. He and Theresa cherished each other, their family, faith and helping others throughout their marriage. He was one of the original members of the Cercle Evangeline as well as a member of the KOC and Golden K’s. Joe was also involved with draft horses for a good part of his life.
Joe is survived by his wife, Theresa (Roach) of 68 years and children, Robert (Louetta), Saskatoon, Rose Marie Phinney (Al), Halifax and Victor (Debby), Westmount; brother, Wilfred (Veronica); grandchildren, Anika (Mike) and Ryan (Kasia) as well as great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Sonja, Clark and Troy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Rita, Annie Blanche, Leona and Eva.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home. As per Joe and Theresa’s wishes, funeral service and interment will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to Loaves and Fishes or a charity of one’s choice.
