Joseph Kispal

God called our home on March 10, 2016 to say he needed a hardworking man to help him out in heaven. With his family by his side Dad agreed to lend a hand as he always did.

Dad left us in his 87th year from the New Waterford hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Dad was born Joseph (Joe) Kispal on October 23, 1929 in Hungary and immigrated to Canada as an infant. Dad was a coal miner at Devco for almost 40 years where he earned the respect and friendship of all that knew him. Dad enjoyed spending his time reading, camping and gardening. He loved to look at pictures of his family and would spend countless hours talking to friends about the successes of his beloved children. Dad’s true passion was his love of cars! He would spend hours reading, talking and working on cars and took pride in his own vehicles!

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Kispal and Giselle Lucas.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Donna McIntyre; his daughter Debbie Darch and her husband Gary of Orleans, ON; son Joseph (Joey) and his wife April of Windsor, ON and daughter Kelly King and her husband Patrick of Miramichi, NB. Papa Joe will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Ashley McCauley (Brian) & Chris (Laura) Darch of Orleans, ON and Brianna & Lara Kispal of Toronto, ON. He was also proud to be Great Papa Joe to his great grandchildren Evelyn and Bridget McCauley and James Darch. Dad also leaves behind his sisters Gisella (late Patrick) Madden, Mary (Hughie) MacDonald of New Waterford and a brother Frank of California USA.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, Mar. 14, 2016 from 11 to 1pm followed directly by a chapel service in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating, followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street, All are welcome. Burial will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Avenue, New Waterford. 902-862-7500
