It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, warm, and deeply loved son, brother and uncle, Ennis MacLeod at home on May 24, 2016. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Stanley “Nipper” and Judy (Wilcox) MacLeod.
He is survived by his brother, John, Halifax; sisters, Tanya, Halifax, Tara (Daniel), Toronto, Kim, Scotchtown, Lindsay (Sean), Judique; nieces, Rebecca, Maggie; nephews, Gary, Declan, Gabriel, and Jake. He will also be deeply missed by his grandmother, Florence MacLeod; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and the love of his life, Shaunna Tighe.
A welder by trade, Ennis lived for a brief time in Edmonton, Halifax, and Toronto but his heart was always in his hometown of New Waterford surrounded by family and friends. He was happiest with family and friends as jokes were being told and guitars were being strummed. At any family gathering, everyone always asked “Where is Ennis?!?” whose smile, levity and infectious humor always brought joy and laughter to everyone present. Even when separated by great distances, Ennis would always be the first to call or message his family and friends. Regardless of the time of day or the hour of night, Ennis always wanted them to know he was thinking about them.
Ennis was predeceased by his grandparents, John Enis MacLeod and Bernie and Lish Wilcox.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 27 from 4-9 p.m. and a funeral mass to celebrate Ennis’ life will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating in the Parish of St Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford. Interment will be in St Michael’s cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the parish hall, Convent Street, All are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500. Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
