John Joseph Webb

John Joseph Webb

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our father John Webb on July 13th, 2020. Born in Halifax, October 26th, 1934, he was the son of the late John Webb and Agnes Beach.

Jack was Director of Distribution of the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission for many years. After retirement he ran Jack Webb Management Services in Dartmouth NS.

Jack was a member of Saint John Vianney Church in Lower Sackville for many years, where he sang and played guitar with his best friend Don MacPherson. He was also a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence (MacLean); daughters, Debbie, Janice, Jeannie (Ron); sons, Ronnie (Cheryl), Jake (Bev), Danny (Lorraine); sisters, Jean (Mitch), Shirley, Angeline (Donnie); brothers, Ken and Billy. Also surviving are his 12 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Jack was pre-deceased by his son Kenny; sons-in-law, Peter and Tommy; daughter-in-law Darlene; sisters, Rose and Betty; brothers, Ronnie (infancy), Doug, Paul and Donnie.

Thank you to the nurses, Doctors, and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital 4A, along with the nurses in Palliative Care, for the wonderful care given to our father. Special thanks to Father Sandy MacNeil for visiting Dad in the hospital and administering prayers.

Jack made many friends through his life; Doug Clarke, Mitch Nan, Eddie Connors are just a few of his very best friends, along with many others. The family would like to give a special thank you to his close friend Jed Miller for all that he has done for dad over the past few years.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a private family Chapel Service will be held, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Donations in Jack’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
