We the MacLean family, heartbreakingly announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Beanie MacLean, on September 12, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen hospital, New Glasgow, N.S. Beanie was the son of the late Joseph F. and Tessie (Ryan) MacLean. He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Springall) MacLean, New Waterford, son Duane, Ont., daughter Denise, P.E.I., three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, brother Joey (Frances), New Glasgow, Ryan (Annette), Stellarton, Greg (Patricia) and sister Faith, Sydney River, also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who he thought the world of and loved dearly and they also shared these feelings toward him. He also leaves to mourn, his best friend since childhood, Barry Trenholm, Trenton, NS. Beanie was an avid baseball, hockey and golf fan and played these sports in his younger and healthier days. He was inducted into the New Waterford Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the New Waterford Giants Maritime Championship Baseball team from 1964-1965.
