It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Joanne Gertrude Poirier, age 57, on February 12, 2019 at the Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Born in Pictou, Joanne was the daughter of Mary Poirier and the late Joseph Poirier.
She was a truly exceptional woman who had a heart of gold. She loved her daughters and grandchildren who were her greatest accomplishment. Her bubbly personality and humor will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Joanne leaves to mourn her passing her partner, John Hurley; her three daughters, Candace (Jarrett) Poirier, Lindsey (Nick) Carter and Bria (Brandon) Poirier; her six grandchildren, Madison, Ellie, Chase, Hayden, Lucas and Liam; her sisters, Karen (Jay) MacDonald, Janet (Lennie) Borden and brother, Joe (Kim) Poirier, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by grandparents, Allan & Gertie MacDonald and Bennett & Amelia Poirier.
Cremation has taken place. A Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the McLellan Brothers Funeral Chapel, Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford followed by a luncheon at the KOC, Plummer Ave. All are welcome to attend.
Donations may be made in Joanne’s memory to the Maple Hill Manor.
