Joan Claire Villa, born on March 25, 1937, in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2023, in Warkworth, Ontario. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Clara ( Hennesay) Marsh, of New Waterford.
Joan's journey through life was one filled with love and devotion to her family. A loving and kind lady who touched the lives of many. Joan had a beautiful personality and was adored by her family and friends. Joan's love for her family knew no bounds; she spoilt all her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. She had a warm smile that could light up any room she entered.
Joan had an array of hobbies and interests that brought her joy throughout the years. She and Charles loved to travel down south to Florida where they would spend their winters together. Joan loved the simple pleasure of sipping black coffee while immersing herself in various activities. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes, and country music always accompanied her joyful moments. Her admiration for nature was evident through her fascination with hummingbirds, dolphins, and tending to her beloved garden.
After Charles's passing in 2010, she relocated to Ontario to live with her daughter, Charlene, and be closer to her family. Sadly, on November 5th, surrounded by those who loved her dearly, Joan peacefully transitioned from this world. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. However, her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those she left behind.
Joan Claire Villa is survived by her loving daughter Charlene (Michael); loving son Brian (Mark); cherished grandchildren Chandra (Aaron) and Lauren (Bryan), as well as great-grandchildren Owen, Paige, and Rey. She treasured every moment spent with them and created countless beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
In addition to being survived by a wonderful family, Joan also leaves behind her brothers Joe, Wayne, and Adrian, as well as her sisters Lorry and Olive. She shared a special bond with her siblings. Joan held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, as she deeply cared for each one of them.
Besides her parents and her beloved husband Charles Villa, she was also preceded by her sister Midge; brothers Russell, Brian and Glen. Although their loss brought sorrow to Joan's heart, the memories they created together will forever be cherished.
Joan lived a life that was centered around love, warmth, and family. Her gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we fondly remember Joan's smile and loving nature, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the lasting impact she had on those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.
