It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Jimmy McEachern on June 21, 2015 at Adanac Park Lodge in Vancouver. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Murdoch and Dorothy (McNeil) McEachern
Shortly after Jimmy had finished his basic training in the Air Force, he was involved in a severe car accident which ended his career. After being honourably discharged, he went to Vancouver where he would spend the remainder of his years. He got great pleasure from helping people as he volunteered a lot of his time cooking for homeless shelters. Jimmy was a man of strong faith and attended mass regularly.
Jimmy is survived by his 7 sisters Gail (Bobby) Hines, Terry Cox, Patsy Roach, Marion (Peter) Cloake, Josi Morrison (Eric), Maureen Noble (Chip) and Kim MacIntyre (Erin); aunts Pat Campbell and Teace Murphy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by a sister Murdena and brother in-law Don Cox. He is also predeceased by numerous aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place in Vancouver. A chapel service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the McLellan Brothers Chapel with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be held in St. Agnes cemetery. All are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
