It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Helen Mary Dwyer on November 18, 2022. Born in Inverness on June 25th, 1940, she attended holy family school and worked at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She married and moved to New Waterford and worked at New Waterford Hospital and then Spring Garden Villa, Sydney.
Helen was a kind and compassionate person, full of love and laughter and a was a person of strong faith. She was President of Saint Agnes C.W.L for four years and served on several committees; Finance Parish council, Liturgy and Hospitality and was Eucharistic minister which she loved to do.
Helen is survived by her son Eugene, grandchildren; Jessie, Jessa, and Sophie who she loved dearly and her sister Jemima as well as several nieces and nephews that she loved.
Besides her parents, George and Emma (MacDonald) Nicholson and Hughie and Katie Ann MacEachern she was predeceased by her husband Reggie as well as grandson Brandon, brothers, Joe, Robbie, John, Dan Hughie, and John Andrew. Sisters; Veronica, Jenina, Theresa, Dorothy, and Mary Liz.
The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses & Dr's on the Palliative Care unit and the staff of New Waterford Heights for the care and compassion they provided during such a difficult time. It did not go unnoticed.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of McLellan Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of St Leonard on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022at 10:00 am. Followed by interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Fr. Godwin Obike officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of St Leonard on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Followed by interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Fr. Godwin Obike officiating
