Heather Gloria Webber

With profound sadness we the family announce the peaceful passing of Heather Webber (nee Penney), 48, on September 30, 2015 at An Cala Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in New Waterford Heather was the daughter of the late Melvin and Trudy (MacEachern) Penney.

Heather lived with and fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 3 years always maintaining a positive attitude, never complaining and asking for very little just as she had lived her entire life. Heather was an LPN she worked for many years in Nursing and Residential Homes as well as long term care. During those years she formed many long lasting bonds with her co-workers. Heather treated everyone she encountered with kindness, compassion, and respect, it gave her great pleasure to care for others.

Heather loved music, sports (especially watching her son and family play baseball), she truly loved her road trips with her husband Michael. Heathers greatest joy and love came from her family, after her Mom's passing Heather embraced the role of Mother for the entire family, she believed family should support one another and spend time together whenever possible especially on special occasions. Heather was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband and best friend Michael, son Evan "Boo Bear" (Ashley), grandchildren Aiden and Avaiah, sister Melissa (Dean) DeGiobbi, Victoria Mines, brothers Buddy (Lynn), Lingan, John "Mingy" (Caroline), Glace Bay, nieces Katie aka "Princess", Brooklyn and her namesake Heather, nephews Chris and Kyle Penney, Robbie and Daniel Cameron, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Heather is also survived by life long family friend Lynda Bonnar and best friends Lynn Penney, Pattie Gillis, and Darlene Durando who she fondly referred to as "the girls".

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her in-laws Theresa and Hilary Webber, maternal grandparents Arnold (Ham) and Gloria MacEachern, paternal grandparents Cecil and Clara Penney, several aunts and uncles.

Heather will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
