It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family wishes to announce the passing of their loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Georgina Woodland on July 6, 2019 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 8, 1938 she was the daughter of the late George and Bridget (Williams) Steiger.
Georgina was a lady who had a great personality, she was a very kind lady with a heart of gold. She was a member of the New Waterford Pensioner’s Club and New Waterford Legion. She loved her bingo and for several years her and a group of friends would get together every Saturday night for a good game of cards and laughter, time not being a factor as they were enjoying themselves. Georgie worked at the Tartan Tea Room in town here for years.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie (Steve), son Herbie; brothers Joey and Jimmy; grandchildren Blake (Kim), Callan, Cyril (Jacqueline), Nygel (Alycia), Moe and Chelsea, great-grandchildren Kelsey, Maci and Serenity; sister-in-law Dianne, brothers-in-law Jeff and Brother, many nieces and nephews and special friend Linda.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Herbie, loving daughter Barbara Ann, sisters Verla, Shirley, Helen (Tootsie), brothers John (Pappy) and Charles (Shall) sisters-in-law Terry, Betty, Cleo, brother-in-law Cyril.
Visitation for Georgina will be held Thursday, July 11 from 5 – 8 PM and a funeral mass will be
Friday, July 12 at 10 AM in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Father Ray Huntley officiating,
followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, Convent St. and all are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 902-862-7500
