It is with broken hearts the family announces the passing of their mother on May 22nd at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Conception Bay, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Doyle) Oliver. Jen was one in a million to her cherished children and friends. She was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club, had a passion for dancing, her door was always open for anyone to come in and have tea and most of all, her famous apple pie, not to mention the many neighbourhood children who were treated like one of her own. She is survived by sons Blair (Sharon), Bernard (Willena), Timmy (Judy), Wilfred Jr. (Donna), Gussie (Cathy), Brian (Rose) and Blaise; daughters Patricia (Sandy )White, Fray (Ray) Hogan, Alanna Snook, Clorene, Shannan MacDonald (Richard), and Charlene (Alex); sisters Margie Rose and Josephine Marsh, 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Jen was also predeceased by her husband, Wilfred ‘Biff’ McPherson, daughter Marlene Jewer, brothers Peter, Gussie, Nipper, Bunny and Will ‘O’, grandson Shawn Jewer and son-in-law George Snook.

Visitation for Jen will take place on Tuesday, May 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm
Service:
A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, May 25th at 10 am in the Parish of St. Leonard’s, Mount Carmel Ave., with Rev. Damian MacPherson and Rev. Albert MacPherson officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the V.O.N.
