Genevieve Kathleen Fortune

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Genevieve Fortune,

on Monday September 19th,2022, at the Maple Hill Manor in New Waterford.

Born September 7th,1926, in New Waterford. Genevieve was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen (Wall) Fortune.

Genevieve was a hairdresser and stylist for most of her adult life in Halifax, she had an incredible sense of style and elegance about her. She ran a beauty school for serval years in which she passed along her passion of style to her students.

Genevieve was a quite and gentle lady who enjoy the finer things in life, in which she was able to treat herself throughout her life. She was the longest residing resident of Maple Hill Manor, having spent the last 14 years there. She most recently celebrated her 96th birthday.

Genevieve was predeceased by her parents Charles and Kathleen, sisters; Carmella Cadden, Eileen Rockett, Evelyn Beaton, and Hazel Momberquette; brothers; Bernie and Joseph.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her extended family the staff of the Maple Hill Manor. A special tank you to the staff for the dedicated and professional care over the years.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Funeral Home, New Waterford. A service will be held at a late date followed by interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
