It is with great sadness that we the family of Frances MacKinnon announce her passing on May 31, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in New Waterford on March 28, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Minnie (Odo) Feit.

Mom enjoyed playing bingo, cards, going for drives and taking in the scenery, being outdoors, and spending time at the bungalow in Framboise. Her house was always open to anyone who came to visit. She loved to cook and bake and was always feeding and entertaining her family and friends. Family was everything to her and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cherished the many times they got to spend together, where she was surrounded by their love.

Mom is survived by her sons Bernie (Helen), Joseph (Donna), Adrian (Ross), Francis (Colleen), Mathias; daughter Anna (Curtis); grandchildren Joey Jr., Sandy, Brandon, Kelly-Anne, Jordan, Connor, Kyle, Hannah, Bailey, Emmett, Mallory, Libby; greatgrandchildren Madison, Colin, Ellie, Carter, Bella, Ella, Jordan; sisters Mary and Pauline; brother Simon (Alice).

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bernard; brothers Mathias ‘Tiker’ and Frank; sisters Anita, Minnie, Anne, Renee, and Josephine.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
