Donald 'Donnie' John Currie

Donald "Donnie" John Currie 71, Scotchtown,North Sydney It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Donnie Currie on June 29, 2011 Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late James and Lenora (Corbett) Currie. Donnie was a quiet and very kind person, always had a smile. He was an retiree from the Department of Highways. He is survived by his son, Robert "Rob", grandchildren Kevin and Dylan, Ontario; sisters Mary (Bill) Stallard, Fredicton, Norma (Ernest) Hannigan, Scotchtown, Genny, Ball's Creek, brothers Ervin (Mary), Malcolm (Jan), both of Ontario and his companion Marlene Boudreau. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by brothers Elmer, Bernard and sisters Theresa and Irene. Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass to celebrate Donnie's life will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 10 am in the Parish of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave., with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 862-7500.
