Denise Marie Morrison (nee Pilon) of New Waterford, aged 62, passed away peacefully on November 3rd, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with her family at her side. Born on September 3rd, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Denis and Cassie (nee MacDonald) Pilon.
Denise grew up in Fourteen Yard, where she spoke proudly of being a Coal Miner’s Daughter. From a young age she had a dynamic personality, pulling in anyone she met like she had her own gravity. She had the amazing ability to fill you with confidence and left you feeling like you could take on the world.
Once you met her, your life was never the same.
Denise had the title of Life Coach, Reiki Master, Neurolinguistic Programmer, but the two she loved the most was Wife and Mother. She enjoyed the simple things in life: a chat with a friend, a cup of coffee in the morning, a walk on the beach, a hug from her family. If Denise taught us anything, it was to spread love, be kind, and to “take it one day at a time”.
Denise is survived by her husband of 29 years, Donald (Spyder) Morrison, their daughter Haley (Garrett); stepchildren, Kimberly and Shawn (Alana), and step-grandchildren Amanda, Devin (Savanna), and Jennifer (Ryan); sisters Barb, Judy (Russell), and Sheila, sister-in- laws, Jean ( Charles) Eileen ( Don) and Diane ( Brian); brother- in- law Clifford ( Mary), as well as her nieces and nephews, which she helped raise, Tammy ( Alessandro) Danette (Harold), Michael (Tara), Raymond (Michelle) and Melanie, and grandnieces and nephews Jeremy, Brooklyn, Bhreagh, Joseph, and Blake.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother in infancy, Denis and sister-in-law Evelyn (John) as well as her grandniece, Rebecca.

The Power Of One
One song can spark a moment,
One whisper can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One moment can make one fall in luv.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what’s true,
One life can make a difference,
You see, it’s up to you.
Chapel service will be live on Facebook
