As huge snowflakes fell softly to the ground, God took his angel Darlene Jean Webb home to heaven. Darlene went home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Born in Halifax on July 1, 1957 Darlene was the daughter of the late Reginald & Gwendolyn Thornton of Halifax. She is survived by her loving husband John (Jake) Webb, the sons she adored, Jake (Courtney), Calgary and David , Dartmouth, sister Susan (Larry) Francis, Lower Sackville and brother Billy Thornton, Halifax. She is also survived by mother and father-in-law John and Florence Webb, New Waterford, niece Natasha, nephews Larry and Ryan. Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers-in-law Debbie (Tom) Hutchison, Janice Webb, Jean (Ron Roche) Webb, Kim Webb, Ron (Cheryl) Webb and Dan (Lorraine) Webb. She is also survived by her wonderful friend Beverly Kavanaugh and her greatest joy, her cat ‘Lilly’. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Ken Webb and Peter Muise. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25th from 7 to 9 pm. A mass to celebrate Darlene's life will be held in the Parish of Saint Leonard on January 26th at 10 a.m. with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Alphonse Cemetery, Victoria Mines, followed by a luncheon in the parish hall, Convent St. Arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers FuneralHome, 3183 Plummer Ave. New Waterford, 862-7500.
