Coleen passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on December 21, 2020. Born July 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (MacDonald) Ryan.

Coleen was quite active in St. Joseph’s Church and in her community, until illness struck. She was a caregiver to her parents and has now joined them in heaven. She will be missed by her sisters Elaine (Angus) Gillis, Ann Marie (Henning) Hansen, and her brother John (Marylynne), all residing in West Kelowna, BC. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, ten grand nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

Her siblings wish to thank the staff at Palliative Care for their excellent support and care given to Coleen, as well as family and friends who supported her through her illness over the years, especially in her final days.

Cremation has taken place and a committal service will be held on January 30, 2021 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria, with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Masks and social distancing must be adhered to per Covid 19 protocol. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Avenue, New Waterford 902-862-7500.

A funeral mass will be held 11am on Tuesday Sept 13th at The Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Godwin Obike officiating, for the late Elizabeth Coleen Ryan who passed away on December 21, 2020. A reception to follow will be held at 36 Flatpoint Rd, New Waterford, all are welcome to attend.
