Cindy Joanne McLean, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loved ones after a brief illness. She was born on August 22, 1973, in Toronto, Ontario, the daughter of Charles “Puggy” and Myrtle McLean. Cindy's life was filled with love, kindness, and a fierce passion for bringing beauty into the world.
Cindy had a natural talent for hairstyling. Her love for making others look and feel their best was evident in everything she did. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and work her magic.
She had an equally deep love and devotion for animals. At one point in her life, Cindy volunteered at the local SPCA shelter, providing comfort and care to abandoned animals. Her compassion knew no bounds when it came to these furry friends. They brought her immense joy and serenity.
Cindy will be remembered as an outgoing and happy soul who brightened any room she walked into. She cherished her relationships with family and friends, always finding time to catch up and make meaningful connections. Her warm personality made everyone feel welcome in her presence; no one ever felt like a stranger around her. Cindy possessed a remarkable sense of humor that she used to lighten difficult moments and bring smiles to those around her.
In the face of adversity, Cindy remained strong and resilient. She approached life's challenges with grace and courage, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her. Her kind heart touched the lives of many individuals who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father Charles "Puggy" McLean. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. Her mother Myrtle (Selaney) McLean, her son Broady McLean, and her brothers Mark (Mary) McLean and Charles "Chuck" (Karen) McLean will forever hold her in their hearts. Cindy shared a special bond with her cousin Brosie Hall, who was like a brother to her. The love she had for her family knew no bounds.
In addition to her immediate family, Cindy leaves behind nieces Miranda and Charlie and nephews Kyle and Mark. She adored them with all her heart and was a loving presence in their lives. Cindy's beloved fur baby "Jackie" was also a cherished member of the family, bringing joy and companionship throughout the years.
Cindy's love extended beyond her immediate family to include several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many great friends. Her infectious laughter, compassionate nature, and unwavering support endeared her to everyone she met. She built meaningful connections that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to be part of her life.
As we mourn the loss of Cindy Joanne McLean, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led. Let us remember her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for others. May her spirit guide us to be more compassionate and embrace each moment with joy. As per Cindy’s wishes there will be no funeral service, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Funeral Home 3188 Plummer Avenue, New Waterford. A private family graveside service will take place.
