Catherine Dianne Macneil

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Dianne (Williams) MacNeil on July 14th, 2023, in the Glace Bay Health Center. Originally from Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Glenna (Russell) Williams.

 It was in Ontario that Cathy met and later married Robert “Bob” Clarence MacNeil on Dec 22, 1979. They later moved back to Cape Breton in 1988 and lived in New Victoria. Cathy was a very kind and giving person who had a passion for helping others. She and Bob loved their neighborhood on Wallace Road. She enjoyed listening to Cape Breton and Newfoundland music and had a soft spot for all animals.

Cathy is survived by her brother Floyd (Donna) Williams; Sisters Jeanette (Russell) Harrison, Deborah Williams, Yvonne (Gus) Dekoning along with many nieces and nephews all of Ontario.

In keeping with Cathy’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan’s Funeral Home 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford. A graveside service will take place for family & friends on Tuesday July 25th, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Union Grove Cemetery with Rev.
