Billy Broderick

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother Billy Broderick, on August 3, 2013 at the Glace Bay Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in North Sydney, Billy was the son of the late William (Billy) and Wilma Sampson. Billy is survived by his loving wife Florence (MacLeod), sons Shawn (Karen), Glace Bay; Darek (Alisha), Truro; Jason Gallant, Dartmouth; sister Patricia Broderick, Calgary; brother Stan (Buellah), grandchildren Emily, Cheyenne, Dallas, Cierra, Jacob, Owen and Cassie. Billy was an avid sports fan. He loved hockey, baseball and bowling. He worked for Devco as a steel fabricator for 22 years. Billy also had dedicated a lot of his time to volunteering in the Glace Bay area, especially for the Glace Bay Little League. He was also stationed in Germany for 4 years with the RCR. Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his brother Chuck Broderick. Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held in the Warden United Church, August, 7th, 2013 at 2 P.M. with lay-minister Pearl Miller officiating followed by a luncheon at the church.
