It is with deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing their father, grandfather and
brother Anthony Gatza on April 16, 2016. Born in New Waterford he was the son of the late Larry and Bertha (Brown) Gatza.
Anthony worked in the coal mines and also was a lighthouse keeper for seven years,
He was a very hard worker and was a man of all trades, even though he did not have
the papers to prove it.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife Lorraine, sons John Anthony (Valerie), Winston
(Jamie), Kirk (Rose), David , Melvin, Kevin (Fran); daughters Deborah, Shauna (Ernie),
Gail (Ray), Tracey and Patricia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters
Annie (George) and Margie; brothers Louis (Sis), Sonny (Brenda), Floyer and Burt.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by daughter Ann Marie, brothers Peter,
George, Joseph, Johnny, Larry; sisters Loretta and Theresa.
Cremation has taken place and a chapel service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 20th at 1 P.M. with Father Ray Huntley officiating followed by interment in St. Jospeh’s Cemetery, New Victoria. Arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500
