It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Anna Marie Currie, 67, of Glace Bay on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the Glace Bay General Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Anthony 'Jack' and Dorothy (Livingstone) Wrathall. Anna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active in her community, when she was healthy enough to help, and at one time was the secretary for the United Ostomy Association, Cape Breton Chapter. She is survived by her loving husband, Reginald; daughters, Francine (John) MacIntyre, Beaton, Ont., Deborah (George) Vater, Glace Bay; sons, Joseph (Janet), Dartmouth, Michael (Sherette), Glace Bay; eight beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Dorothy (Bernie) Kelly, Emily (Butch) Buchanan, both of Glace Bay, Nancy (Louie) Bresson, Louisdale, Margaret MacKee, Lynn McQuay, both of Kitchener, Ont.; brothers, Ronnie (Sharon) Wrathall and Ralph Wrathall, both of Mississauga, Ont.; as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, (862-7500). Donations may be made in Anna's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or The United Ostomy Association of Canada.
