It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and sister Anna A. Cameron, on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (MacDougall) MacIssac. Anna had worked at the New Waterford Hospital as a housekeeper for several years. She had also worked in Niagara General Hospital doing Laundry. She was a very kind, loving and positive person. Her family meant everything to her. She lived in Ontario to raise her kids, once they were old enough she moved back to the place of her heart, Cape Breton Island. She is survived by her sons Allan (Lynn), Colin (Sylvia), Angus (Donnelda), Stanley and Sandy (Tracy), All of Ont., daughter Anita (Michael) Hicks, sisters Molly (Gary), Dolly (Russell) and Rose, brothers Jackie (Theresa) and Sonny (Nichole). Anna is also survived by her grandchildren Katrina, Michael (Kara), Jillian (Laura), Todd, Stacey, Stephanie, Matthew, Evan, Jenna, Brandon and Bradley. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Allan, sisters Margaret and May, brothers Tommy, Albert, Dan and Jimmy. Cremation will take place after visitation. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23 from 2-4 to 7-9 pm. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m in the McLellan Brothers Chapel, Plummer Ave, with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michaels Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall, Convent St., New Waterford. All are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500. Donations in Anna’s memory can be made to the Lung Association.
