It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Anastasia Lorraine MacIsaac on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Donnie and Mary (MacIsaac) Henry.
Anastasia was well known in the community where she volunteered for 19 years as a pre school teacher and 19 years as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners club, enjoyed a good game of Tarbish, loved playing board games, solving crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was an excellent 1st baseman when she played for Browns Sports shop in the New Waterford Ladies Softball League.
Anastasia is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Raylene (Matthew); son, Frank (Candice); sisters, Donna Marie (Joey) Raylene (Robert); brothers, David (Doris), Chuck (Heather), Fabian (Mary); grandchildren, Jasmine, Jacob, Jessica, Logan, Brooklyn, Chloe and a large extended family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Sandy, and biological father, Alexander Rigby.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held in the McLellan Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 20th, 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment at St. Michaels Cemetery, River Ryan followed by a luncheon at the KOC, Plummer Ave. All are welcome to attend.
