Obituary for Thaddeus 'Ted' Donald Ropek

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my brother Thaddeus ‘Ted’
Ropek. Born in New Waterford on September 10,1950 he was the son of the late
Ted and Mary (MacPherson) Ropek.
He was a 3rd generation baker at Ropek’s Bakery for forty years. Ted was a very
humble and quiet man, who trusted in our Lord Jesus and the Blessed Mother, was
very well liked, enjoyed all kind of sports, loved to listen to Country Classics Gospel
music. He was a long time member of the Army, Navy & Airforce, New Waterford,
where he loved playing “Bish” with his good buddies and his life long friends from
away. He was also an avid dart shooter in his time. He was a former member of St.Agnes
church, now the Parish of Saint. Leonard.

Ted is survived by his sister Donna (Walter Jr.) Petrie, uncle Raymond (Lollie) MacPherson,
aunts Jackie MacPherson, Theresa MacPherson, uncle Danny (Donna) Ropek and
also his fur buddy “Angus”.

Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his brother Michael ‘Moe’ and
brother-in-law Walter Petrie Jr.

I would like to thank the staff of the New Waterford Hospital, the EHS Service
and the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Special thanks to his closest and
dear friends at the ANAF, he will surely be missed by family and friends but never
forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Ted’s life will be held at a later date in
the Parish of St. Leonard. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan
Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 902-862-7500
