Rose Maceachern

Rose Jeannie MacEachern passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and close friends on August 23, 2006, in the New Waterford Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Francis MacEachern in 1992. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Saade (Shalala) Andrews. Her parents were one of the first Lebanese families from Lebanon to immigrate to North America from Hadeth El Joubbeh, Northern Lebanon in the late 1800's. She was the last surviving member of her family.She leaves to mourn daughter Jean Quirk, Sydney and son Francis MacEachern, Georgetown, Ontario, grandchildren Jim (Kathleen) Quirk, Sydney, Ann Marie Quirk, Halifax, Ron, Gary, Linda and David MacEachern, Brampton Ontario; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Mitchell, Christopher, Alex, Laura, Tricia, Chelsea and Tess, and her favorite niece, Rose Totten. Rose was an active member of the St.Agnes C.W.L just receiving her 60 year pin and was the secretary for many years. She frequently visited the sick and volunteered at the New Waterford Manor. She was a devote mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was well noted for her hospitality, everyone was welcome in her home with hot meals and a place to stay.She made her home a "home away from home" with a glad heart. She lived independently. No visitation, Arrangments are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
