Richard David Nelson

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we the family, announces the passing of our
dear husband, father, grandfather and brother, Richard Nelson on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.

Born in Manitoba on January 18, 1962, he was the son of the late Reginald and Elsie (Weirch)
Nelson.

Richard enjoyed playing darts, fishing, going for long drives in the country with Cathy, trips to the casino but most of all, his greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren, whom he adored very much and spent a lot of time with them. He and Cathy were a couple who did everything together .

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty three years, Cathy (Gillis), son Robert, grandchildren Keegan and Emma; brothers Robin (Laurie), Wayne (Lucy) ; sister Linda (Dave) Pohl; sister-in-law Pat, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Richard was also predeceased by daughter Dani Leigh, brothers Dennis and Terry.

Cremation has taken place and visitation will take place Tuesday, March 19th from 12-2 pm followed by al chapel service in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm with Deacon Leo Penny officiating, with a luncheon to follow at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral , 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
