Obituary for Mary Frances Campbell

It is with broken hearts that the family wish to announce the passing of their loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary Campbell on April 17, 2020 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born on May 27, 1941, Lingan, NS, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah (Hall) Campbell.

Mary was a former member of the Army, Navy & Airforce, Unit 217, an avid dart shooter, enjoyed playing bingo, had fond memories of trips each summer with her late husband Danny and dearest friends, Dorothy and Gerry (deceased) Helle, to Newfoundland to have great visits with their friends Mary Jane and Ernest Chaisson. Most of all, Mary was the happiest when she had visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they were her pride and joy.

She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Ann (Wayne) Steiger, whom she resided with and took such good care of her, Dorothy (Paul) Kraft, Heather (Michael) Rousseau; sons Kenneth (Cathy) and Michael (Laura); sister Pauline Caverly; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Susan and Rena Campbell, Winnie Gatza, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Danny, daughter Elizabeth in infancy, son-in-law John Wayne Steiger, brothers-in-law Gerald, Leo and Arthur Campbell, Bunny Oliver, Douglas MacDonald, Peter Gatza; sisters-in-law Marion MacDonald, Dorothy Oliver and Sadie Campbell.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Raed Azer and his secretary Patricia McPhee for their kindness and thoughtfulness, and the nurses on the 2nd floor of the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 902-862-7500
