It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Hugh Francis Copan, on July 14, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth “Liz” (MacDonald) Copan.
Hugh was a man who loved the simpler things in life. He enjoyed playing darts, cards, spending his mornings with his friends at tims and just driving around. He loved to wash cars and he took great pride in it. Hugh also loved pizza, the one thing that he could never go without.
Hugh is survived by his four sisters, Mary (Ron), Charlene (Paul), Beth, Alberta (Jake) and three brothers Clarence (Christine), Elliott (Carol), Bernie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived and missed by his dear friend and cat “Frisky”. He is predeceased by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass to celebrate Hugh’s life will take place Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave. with Father Ray Huntley officiating.
