Eva Annie McNeil
It is with deep sadness that we the family of Eva Annie McNeil announce her passing on March 6, 2020, at home. Born in New Waterford on October 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Waidson) Hulme.
Eva was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, bingo, travelling, watching and feeding birds. Her greatest passion was her family, whom she loved dearly. She cherished family get togethers where she would be surrounded by their love.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and friend to all, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Eva is survived by her husband of 59 years, Melvin McNeil, Sons; Gordie (Alanna), Kenny (J-Lynn) Daughters; Karen (Blair) Bailey, Judy ( Mickey) Burke, grandchildren; Kerrilynn, Allison, Albert, Marilyn, Megan, Eric, Casey, Holly, Avery, Gavin, Cameron, Great-grandchildren; Myla, Kruz, Ellie, Carter, Lexi, Logan, Emily, Jackelyn, Leighlah Sisters; Ada Porter, Marion (Neil) Donovan, Thelma (Bernie) Doucette.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Marilyn, Sister; Diane Eksal, Brothers; Mark, George, and Gordon in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 2pm with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Donations in Eva’s memory can be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care.
