Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late John and Veronica Leadbeater. Dad worked 37 years as a proud miner and also spent many years as a safety officer for Devco, a job which he took great pride in. An avid sports enthusiast, he could be found at many bowling lanes throughout Nova Scotia, perfecting his game until the day he bowled his 400 in New Waterford lanes. Dad was also very involved in horsehoes in and around the province competing in singles and doubles and took home many honors. He also loved the game of darts and his beloved New York Yankees. His proudest moments were the last number of years when he got to bowl against his son, Roger in the K.O.C. Bowling Tournament in which he captained the team for more than 30 years. Although sports were a big part of Dad's life nothing compared to the summers he spent with his family and friends in Glenville, a place we all hold near and dear to our hearts. Baldy is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley, daughters Wendy (Eddy), Pauline (Chuckie) and his only son Roger (Candace).
